Kolanukonda, India

On April 28, Bethany celebrated the completion of our sister church in Kolanukonda, India. Last fall during our tent crusade with Missionary Evangelist Mike Francen, we caught the vision of building a church in an unreached village through the Well of Life Project*. On Homecoming Sunday, November 5, we raised an offering for the purchase of adjacent property for a new building at Bethany. The Bethany Church Family decided to take the first $5000 raised to build someone else a building first.

The unreached village of Kolanukonda, India was targeted. A village of over 500, Kolanukonda was unreached with the Gospel and in desperate need of a clean water source. The video below shows the new well, church and congregation.

*Well of Life Projects are an effective church planting endeavor by Francen World Outreach sharing the love of God in a very tangible way. Unreached villages that do not have access to fresh drinking water are targeted. A well is drilled and a hand pump installed providing clean water to the community. Next to the well, a church is constructed. A three day dedication service (crusade) celebrates the pure source of natural water and the true "Living Water" of Jesus Christ. Instruction in sanitation and waste disposal are taught during the day. A pastor is installed to shepherd the new congregation. Village residents will come to the well daily for water and the church is right there. Often the pastor's wife will teach school in the church building during the week. These projects are proving to be one of the greatest church planting/soul winning methods of our day.
